Gloom Cake: live in Tokyo 

Gloom Cake is Jennifer Vinegar Avery and James Allen Swainbank.  They create playfully macabre performance and instillation combining high and low materials, such as oil paintings and paper mache sculpture. They also create music and soundscapes. Vinegar and Swainbank met and married at the 2015 Satellite Art Fair Artist Run instillation on Miami’s North Beach.  The pair has worked on many projects in New England, Baltimore, Tokyo, and Paris. They work and reside in a Victorian home in Northwest Connecticut. You may also watch occasional rehearsals here.
